I know they mosty sell the same stuff but who do you use for most of your bits.

    My experience is
Cool air never have the items i want in stock and post times are a bit hit and miss.
Just kampers have improved a lot in the last few years following selling poor parts, the service it very good with good next day delivery.
Custom and commercial ok but not a great range
    Alan schofield poor service
VW Heritage web site not great with postage a bit hit and miss
GSF poor parts not that cheep even with the discounts

  2. I use VW Heritage most of the time as they have parts for my son's T25 and mk2 Golf as well as for my Bay, so a one stop shop. The VWH website is slow and not easy to use in my opinion. Their service for me has been excellent and prompt.

Seems your not happy with anybody

    I've used all of them.

Schofields do all the stuff nobody can get service is above and beyond every time.

VW heritage carry a huge range and are pretty faultless with supply description and delivery

Just kampers have always had super fast delivery and do a range of parts, some at the lower end some genuine

GSF do genuine parts at good prices if you ask, cheap parts at cheap prices if you ask for them too. Delivery is excellent.

Cool air won't post a lot of the bigger items so I tend not to use them

Custom and commercial tend towards splitscreen stuff, I use them rarely but no issues either

  4. You forgot Machine 7. Schofields also because they are not far from me and they are just brilliant. VWH for everything else, when the other 2 don't sell it.

  8. GSF have adopted the same discounting strategy as Tesco. Bump up the prices and then discount it.

  9. cool air for me, my experience with them has been fantastic.

    My backup is VW heritage.

Not used any of the others.

  10. I tend to use VWH - the first time I ever had to buy a part I was told to use them and I have just got into the habit. I get the discount automatically and have their number on my phone. Rarely buy it online. I like the fact that Alex comes on here also. Schofield is just down the road but I have never used them - given the comments above I will give them a go as well.

  11. ^this.

  12. Barry Haynes

Barry Haynes I dance in leopard skin mankini’s

I always use VW Heritage and have only had a problem when buying a head light switch ( I had 3 from them and all 3 didn't work) to be fair they did exchange each time without a fuss, in the end I bought a second hand original from flea bay,

  13. VW heritage for me (dpd delivery is great and any issues resolved with no fuss), followed by cool air. Eurocarparts for any more generic bits.

Won't use just krappers after they sold me a defective carb - choke flap screws were too long, so they hooked the accelerator pump tube out and dumped it into cylinder 3. New piston, barrel and head required. Was sold as brosol but was generic Chinese. Attempted to get money back but was threatened by their lawyers. Not enough Haribo in the world to get me back.....

I got in the Heritage habit when I started working on vw's. At that time everything from Schofield's arrived damaged, CoolAir didn't have much of a range, same JK. But when I called Heritage they almost always had everything I wanted and didn't try and sell me sub standard stuff they'd had made themselves or ordered in error.
To be fair that was almost 10 years ago, time flies! Now I message @davidoft , you've missed him off the list. :D

I tend to go with VWH and Coolair with Just Kampers as back up; that said we bought the JK Hookup kit and it was spot on, both fitting and instruction wise. We tend to buy genuine parts only from JK but in fairness to them, delivery has been next day on a lot of our recent orders from them :)

  18. The worse thing no matter who you buy your parts from is "poor quality" and poor service, there should be no excuse for either in this day and age !

  19. just kampers ,they have the easier ordering system....or did have...:hattip:

  20. Schofields for panels, JK or Heritage for other bits
