Buddy, on a serious note...as someone that had a visit from the Big C, don't make big decisions on the back of being in shock and rightly emotional so soon after your heart attack.

Give it a few days, listen to the docs and what they say, then start re-prioritising.

Personally, I'd not be thinking about anything important at the moment and just get well.

Also...thelatebay's longest thread can't end on such a low note.

  4. Did you get sent up to the James Cook at Middlesbrough or the Friarage at Nothallerton? Their heart departments both have a great reps. Suprised you weren't kept in for a few days though.
Heart attacks at 50 runs in my dads side of the family. Every male going back 3 generations has had one at 50 (thats about 8 or 9 men). I'm 43 this year.

Don't rush into making any major decisions on the bay. Give yourself time to recover then spend a while figuring out exactly what you want.
I'm sure theres a lot of people on here would be willing to give up a weekend to really break the back of it if you need a helping hand getting it on the road.

That’s a big shock mate. Good advice from the folks on here. I’m 50 this year and worry about my camper rusting. My dad died when he was 50. Puts things in to perspective. Take care.

Wow, take some time, have a rest and do what you feel is right... mostly get well soon.

You’ll be on the radar now and there’s no reason why you should follow the pattern of generations before you with modern medicine.

These old vans get under your skin, but if your priority is to get out and see the world with the family there are other more dependable ways... just don’t rely on the trains, they’re worse.

  18. Take it steady and have a speedy recovery.

As for the bus - keep it or sell it - it doesn’t really matter but if it feels like a burden, get rid.
