pancake day is nearly here

  1. woo hoo!!!

    I love pancakes and just realised it is pancake day next week :D

    I like mine done nice and thinly, with the traditional sugar and lemon :) .... but I might have some with honey and 1 or 2 with golden syrup yum......

    how do you like yours ?????

  5. Im home alone this week and have told a certain 8 year old we will 'do' pancake day once they've got back :( but I think I'll do them on the sly and it will be lemon & sugar :)

    I've been known to pack 15 of them away when I've treated it as a dinner :D

    ......and I dont only have them once a year either

  8. I can manage lots & lots ... we don't save them for once a year either! Probably have them a couple of times a month for breakfast on a Sunday morning ... yummy :)

  9. my nana mmakes the most delicious pancakes....one yearwhen i was about 14 she spent forever making one after the other i think i ate around 22..... could def be in a pancake eating competition :) mmmmm pancakes......
     
  10. yea, once the pan is hot you just got to keep making them :)

    I get so fast at this I barely get time to eat them before the next one is cooked lol!!

  12. lemon & sugar all the way. I haven't had any since my dairy and gluten free diet - may try some this year but always been too scared of being disappointed and ruining the memory of proper pancakes! :/
     
  13. I always have a savory one first, Ham, cheese and fried egg. Accompanied with a dash of ketchup and ground pepper.

    Pancake fried and tossed, the layered with the ham and covered in grated cheese. Place under the grill to melt the cheese whilst the frying the egg in a separate pan.
    Serve with egg on top of melted cheese :cool:

    Dessert would be the sugar and Jif lemon ;)

    Hopefully the catering students are cooking them again this year, we tended to gorge ourselves here last year. :)

  18. It's tomorrow, hooray!!!!

    However, as I have Zumba tomorrow Pancake Day has been upgraded to today woo hoo!!! Melted Belgian choc on ours mmmmmm :)
