A lazy day with the welder and a new dipstick grommet? If you're not getting full throttle it looks to me like the acc cable was moved to a new hole in the linkage (at the pedal end) recently.
That’s in much better condition than mine and I use it I little bit of welding a wire brush and some paint and your good to go.
Thanks all. He said it’s not far off “being only good for parts”. Maybe there are things not seen on the photos but Duncan came to look at it when I bought it and has done bits for me since, so the whole thing was a shock. I definitely know there are jobs that are bodged completely and poor welding fixes from PO. It’s reassuring though nobody is looking at that and thinking it’s completely fubared
Looks ok to me after reading this thread I was expecting something like my double cab that I've just done. I'll show you bad. Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
My bus is worse than that in many places... I am using it. A knackered £10 brake light switch kills one circuit. A gearbox rebuild about £1400.. I work on mine outside on a run up in front of our garage.. built engine, rebuilt engines, rebuilt sliding door, changed front panel and deformation panel, about to swap front suspension beam outdoors this weekend.. todo front wheel arches (again)) .. my aim is never to have it off the road for more than a couple of weeks. It may need work done eventually, not all at once. Go back with a new brake switch, an adjustable spanner, swap it, drive it home.
They’ve gone to town on it and scared you , there’s nothing to write home about from those pictures, I would say your bus is better than 80-90 % of the stuff on the road , they’ve put the willies up you and it looks completely unjustified
It really isn’t a bad bus, get it back and we’ll go through it , make a priority list I noticed when I passed you the other day that you’ve added some cool side stripes too!
Indeed. Looking a the pics, there doesn't appear to be much that needs doing. If that's their definition of a bus only fit for parts, I'd avoid using them. I'd still be interested to know what exactly is "wrong" with the gearbox and engine. I think they're having you on mate, for reasons unknown.
Got to agree. if you’ve shown the bad bits, and they genuinely said it’s not far off a parts bus; they’re taking the mick.
Engine looks like a normal type 4 to me, maybe a heat exchanger from a t25? Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
You guys are probably use to rust and rot a lot more than us. Really hard to find panel shops that will touch old cars here
