This is a good idea ... Basically "pack" it gently with cotton buds or similar between salt water swill sessions

The dentistry thing was the responsible family man thing but acting was, and is, all he really wanted to do.
His college buddy was a keen and good amateur golfer so they set up their practice so that they could cover for eachother when the acting jobs or golf tournaments came along.

  4. If you are genuinely in pain then try your luck at A&E, I was once told they will provide urgent treatment on that basis.

Have you a dental hospital in a nearby town/city ?
Assuming they don't close over the Festive period, that's where the tooth would be removed....so perhaps worth popping in.

  6. How do you know he was really a dentist? He may just have been acting...

  10. Get some proper pain relief at least asap. I was a brave little soldier for years with me back, but after 4 nights on the bounce without sleep you'd drink monkey wee if it took the pain away.
    Heal well.

All depends on root shape, which they should already be prepared for from the X ray
At least you're not having it out because it's "impacted".
    Enjoy!

Oh mate! That’s the worse possible tooth ever! I’d rather be ripped apart by a horse tied to each of my limbs than have a wisdom tooth out!

Not going to gloss it up for you, but Ive had a similar experience.

Had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted in one hit some 25yrs ago due to them all being impacted. The operation required an overnight stay in Hospital and a general anaesthetic before having my jaw dislocated so that they could get to all the wisdom teeth.

For breakfast the next day staff brought me soggy wheatabix as they knew it would be all I could suck through my teeth as my jaw was locked with the swelling from being dislocated.....it took ages before I could actually open my mouth and it hurt like a swine.

Get in plenty of Corsodyl mouth wash so as to rinse your mouth out, as getting a toothbrush in to clean behind the teeth was torture at first.
