  6. This job keeps cropping up on here and if you do a search you'll see it evokes what can only be described as extreme emotions, mine included. It's a sod. Grease and rubber don't mix. To lube the hose use petrol only and ensure it is in final position before petrol dries as if it is n't the aggrometer will go up to 11. The best thing to do is get the long hose and cut to length with the bend. Do the job once and right.

  7. Before you start, make sure you slash your forearms with a Stanley knife. This'll save a bit of injury time when you're installing the pipe...

I took my fuel filker elbow hose off because the outside looked like fabric covered fuel pipe. Realised it was actually still very flexible and soft and not cracked under the dodgy looking exterior when I peeled the fabric back so I put it back rather than faff ..

  12. I used one of these from a seller called montyidd

    eBay item number:
    232716971653

    55mm id x 120mm Long - Fuel Filler Oil Hose PVC NBR VW Type 2 72 < 79
hand-built in the UK by JTA Rubber Company Ltd

It turned out it was the wrong one for my Bus, but they do make the longer curved ones which he did make for me and it fitted very well, would highly recommend.
