strange lot you on here, it wasnt me that took the picture nor said that previously I had sent in photos to the police, yet because I point out they should abide by the law they are supposed to uphold then I am uptight etc. For what its worth I have been a public servant worn a uniform and (walked more than a mile)

Dont worry Lowie I very rarely frequent the sort of food outlets to which you refer so we're unlikely to meet.
so IF you walked more than a mile in uniform why do you come across as so anti police /public service sour grapes ???

I've got no sour grapes with the police but I do believe that if you are paid to uphold the law then that doesnt give you the right to break or bend the rules so it suits you, actually they should be setting an example, think it comes under morals, ethics and professionalism. If they dont know right from wrong who does or can be expected to.

So if you want to continue this discussion where do you draw the line ... I agree the police have a tough job so its alright for them to speed back to the station with their donuts, its alright for them drive using a mobile, its OK to beat someone up when its not justified, arrest someone without justification, shoot someone for the wrong reason ... I dont know you tell me where that line "of stepping outside the law" starts and finishes.

live and let live, aint taking sides at all But, i wouldn"t take their job for triple the salary ,one minute their illegally parked ,next?not many jobs where you ,in extreme , are called upon to give your life to save a.n.other member of public.

With some of the **** they have to shovel up on our behalf they're welcome to some iffy parking as a perk.

Exactly. We as a nation are so strict you can't fart as a civil servant and not get lambasted by the press to resign. A little "off street" parking is totally acceptable amongst other things considering what they do and that new recruits are now on only £19k a year.

Spot on..doesn't really feature in the top 100 (or 100,000) things to get bothered about to be honest, so who cares. I'm sure we all have perks of the job and if this is one of theirs, then good luck to them.

Far more important things to be getting uptight about, like grubby road signs, traffic lights that stay red for too long, birds that sing out of tune and getting in the slow queue at sainsburys...
