Oil leak behind bottom pulley (type 1)

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by the crumpets, Apr 7, 2013.

  1. Hello again, just changed the after market oil filler to an original one. When i looked inside of the breather pipe there was a biege looking oily substance (a bit like cholesterol in your veins) is this normal or another result of another problem i haven't found yet

  2. That's commonly known as "mayo" it's a mixture of oil vapour and water... normally you'll find it if you just do short runs!! :)

  3. Thats ok then, i have only done short journeys just lately. Got a good run this friday so then i will be able to see if the leak is still as bad with the swapped filler. Santa Pod is still on. May be my personal best and break into the early thirties, late twenties.

  4. Got it all sorted, or at least thats what it looks like at the moment. Changed to an original type oil filter and breather pipe, went all the way to Santa Pod and back with no problems not one drop of oil.

Thanks once again for all of your help

  5. Yaaaaay :)!
