  2. I think they still play cricket on the bramble bank each year at a spring low tide! Maybe the captain wanted to get some practise!

    Tuesday wildchild I'm a circle!

Scottish ship, last I heard they called of search and will start again this morning.

This time of year in those cold waters its not going to be a good outcome.

Agreed, it's mighty dangerous at sea, if something goes wrong you can't just step off. A good friend of mine was drowned when the keel snapped of the racing yacht he was crewing on. It was the first time he'd sailed on the sea. It was enough to stop my sea sailing in it's tracks (along with the idiot dismantling the steering on the cat).

  9. I'm part way through watching Titanic at the mo, I've got feeling it isn't going to end well;)
By the way, is the line "I saw the iceberg, and I see it in your eyes..." The worst line ever in a movie?

  18. Spent many happy hour going up and down the Solent as a watch keeping officer on the RNs last dedicated navigational training frigate. Also been past that way several times recently whilst having a days sailing from Southampton to Cowes for lunch and back. Well marked channel and with GPS surprised this has happened.
