number plate light fixing

quick easy one.........

does the numberplate light fix in the engine lid with self tapping screws diredtly into the engine lid or does it use screws into spira clips/speed nuts?

 

Mine is by a self tapper straight into the panel but it is a bit loose and I can see how it woudl work better with the clips there!

 

Straight into the panel, thus ensuring rust.
