Nice old Lucas split charge relay to fit - advice required

Right to summarise --

The wire is not good enough , the relay is not a acceptable vw part , it was probably made by Ricks aunty May before lunch when she was still under the influence hiding under a table from a hurricane and sweet talking the boss into employing her unemployable train spotting gay nephew !

i went for a job at Leyland once , i sat a iq test with a room full of strange people , they called my name out after and made me stand on the engine assembly line for half an hour , the boss bloke came back and asked " what do you think ?" i told him no !

They then offered me any office trade i wanted immediate start etc , i already had a office job so declined that as well , Lou had been waiting over two hour's in my 1100 outside and wondered what had happened to me .

 

Cheers mike i did like the authentic retro idea but if it isn't up to the job then , a fiver where ?

Right back on track -

Can i test it somehow before attempting to fit it and can it be fixed if broke or should i bin it and get a modern jobby ?
