The wobbly ceiling paper is a pig to get off. Underneath it is some plain lining paper painted in lemon gloss. I was only doing it so the ceiling could be even from where the 70s cupboards were. I may take off one square and layer up with paint. I know its a bodge but the ceding seems sound and it's a pita to get off.
There's a false ceiling on the landing. So tempted to rip it out right now. I know. It'd be wrong but I will do it eventually. Why not now?
And from there going into the worlds smallest peach and gold bathroom, there's an even lower false ceiling! Think how many shelves I could have for towels and bedding!!!
If you think your peach bathroom is bad, you should see the maroon number we've had since we moved here in 1987!
It's the hall not outside the lav which would have been in the doorway of the original bedroom when the lav was outside. I found the union flag from po. Not my thing at all. Though I have thoughts involving monarchy and crap before
I just looked at it and it started coming away. Any idea how I could remove it, see what's behind and then put back if it's too scary?
Or should I just stick a claw hammer through it, put my head down and pull???? I so wNt to but am terrified what it's covering!
chances are there'll be battens screwed around the perimeter and possibly a cross brace......the plaster board will be clout nailed on.....tap your finger in the middle and work outwards to hear where the supports are (if any).....to remove it quickly whack it with a jemmy....to remove it properly, find the edge of the batten...drill a hole put a plaster board saw in and cut round....I wouldn't mess about if you're getting rid.....use a jemmy....it's therepeutic
a wrecking bar.....crow bar....big steel thing with a chisel at one end, a lever hook on the other....every girl should have one
A crowbar-type thingy. While you're pulling stuff down, if you come across any leaflets advertising "Fred West, General Builders", stop immediately...
