new fan with alternator conversion?

evening all,

as the title says really, I'm going to be changing my dynamo for an alternator but will I need a new fan or will the original fit?

 

original one will fit, but you might need to adjust the shims to re-centre it!!

lol, yes fan backing plate, tin ware, engine bracing bar ......just about anything I can find

...I know the fan wont be seen, but it was a little rusty so at least I will be able to sleep at night knowing its done

 

I painted my fan

 

I thought about painting the fan impellor.....but the time it would take to clean it all up....and then trying to get the paint into all the fins......hats off to you mate ........I bet you flatted it down too

 

Its a fiddly bugger so i used a can of spray enamel lol

 

I wouldn't powder coat the fan... You could upset the balance of it

 

And may make the fan and housing thick enough to catch
