Weber 44 IDFs would be my choice.

  4. Last months Volksworld done a which is best guide on carbs on a bay. :)

  5. What's the matter with the old ones? Why not fix them up?

  6.
  7. The old carbs have given 32 years of service i dont know the history of them and reading lord congis thread there seems to be a problem with a carb running lean and damaging the cyl head which is what we have had

  8. 40idf's or some 40dells if you can get them... you'll get better mpg if you don't get addicted to the extra performance that you get from them ;)

one thing you will need to do is fit the vac advance for the dizzy to one of the carbs with an anti-pulse valve :) unless you have a 009 fitted already

  9. dell 40s are nice

  12. I've got the cb performance solex replacments from heritage, they're ok, though if i could go back to before i bought them for 400 odd quid, i would have invested in getting my stock ones rebuilt for about half the price, which ever carbs you choose they will still need setting up, depending on the condition of your old ones, they may only need re setting up too?

  13. 009 `s are just mechanical

I've got 40mm Kadrons on my new engine. Really impressed with them after 4 months although fuel usage has gone up. I think my right foot has got heavier since the engine went in. ::)

  15. Iv got 40's

(Italian) Weber 40 IDF's or Dellorto DRLA's Iv had both and can not tell the difference in quality or performance between the two. Iv never used Kadrons but I here good things.

I really dont see the need to go up to 44's unless your planing bigger mods. On a stock engine they seem pretty pointless.

If your not going to do any thing els with the engine I would go down the simple route and get a 32/36 progressive.

Check this video out ;) its my favorite excuse the guys language.
