  1. Today the Wizard failed it's Mot, listed are the jobs that has to be done :)

    1. brake imbalance 10% and 90%
    2. Small bit of welding in the engine bay
    3. NS AND OS suspension mounting corroded about 3-4 inch oval, needs welding
    4. brakes imbalanced across axle
    5. OS rear brake recording little or no effort

i'm quite please with this considering its been off road for almost seven years with no MOT :)

  2. Glad to hear your brakes all work properly...

If your specialist didn't notice the brakes were only working 10%, I'd get a new specialist!

  11. They're telling you your brakes are s.hite. The #1 will be corner to corner or front to back, #4 will be same axle, front or back. #5 will be down to the bloke who drove it down there not bothering to check they worked right
    :)

  12. it was the MOT centre

  13. well the "bloke that drove it down there" is not a mechanical smart ass!

I thought you said yesterday it had been driven by about 5 different people, all of whom thought the brakes were fine?

  17. I drove the van today, when I put my foot on the brakes, it stopped, when I did an emergency stop, it stopped, when I put the handbrake on a on a steep hill, it stopped, know without a full diagnostics or a qualified MOT tester, would you say the brakes worked ok?

  18. strange how there's always a prick in a rose bush . "ouch"

  19. I'd say that was a pretty good result considering...
rather than faff about, if you intend to keep the bus for a decent length of time, read up about how the system works, so you've got a good handle on it, buy a new brakeline kit, hoses, master cylinder repair kit, new rear cylinders & shoes....clean up the front calipers and check pistons are working ok...fit and re bleed the whole system....it's a big job breaking out, but as previously mentioned, you don't want to skimp on brakes, and it's pretty pointless changing the odd part here and there, if the condition of the other parts is suspect...won't be cheap, I'm afraid, but I reckon that's your best option
