Never liked them at school a couple off the children came up and told mr their fingers hurt that was after playtime they was using loombands. I did mention it higher up but nought happened. Think as we only had a week left the hope was the fad would disappear over the holidays. You can get looms for them so they don't have to use their fingers I did notice that if you are an O2 customer on priority you can get a free one from wh smiths.
Simple solution use pegs instead of fingers! My beans love them understand the dangers of leaving them on their fingers and know if there left on the floor they get hoovered up however I do see the risks I'm just glad mine use the loom boards a lot more now we're on to people now and animals!!!
They're just tiny elastic bands. Every house has elastic bands in a drawer or cupboard and they still will have when the loom band fad has subsided. In fact most houses are chock full of stuff that could give our kids some kind of injury, loom bands are probably the least of my worries
FFS! An eight year old? At 8 I was riding a motor crosser, filling it with petrol, fixing it with spanners, pliers, grips etc. These are feckin elastic bands !!!
That boy must be as thick as a whale omelette I must say! I was surprised how dull my 4 year old was, I think she knows now I explained it to her.
These people could try teaching their kids some COMMON SENSE! Oh! I forgot, that is now the job of the state, along with social responsibility, good manners, sensible behaviour, respect for the law, elders and teachers. Etc etc. For that reason I'm out!
"A dad who believes his eight-year-old son almost lost his fingers when he fell asleep while making loom bands has issued a warning about the popular bracelets." I once believed my bum would fall off if I put my finger in my belly button. I then realised I wasn't a bloody doctor!!!
Me too. And pouring petrol on crops in fields to see how well it burned. And climbing up quarries. And sledging down pit slag heaps.
