hammer and chisle ,I can do castle nuts as well... If you get a good grove in it you can bang it anti clockwise till she breaks ,concentrate on the big bit near the wheel...
I had a wheel nut that I rounded off and couldnt get undone. .....but luckilly I've got a set of 'rounded' sockets for undoing rounded nuts ......they are well worth invesing in a set, it worked brilliantly this sort of thing (note the shape of the socket - you wouldnt belive they work lol - but they are great) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5PC-TWIST-SOCKET-SET-REMOVES-ROUNDED-NUTS-EASE-/260941402246?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3cc151d086
It's been pretty miserable weather up here recently. Cold and wet with just the odd day of dry in between. Getting warmer now though.
I'm actually in a good mood for once. Its warm and sunny and everything has worked as it should on the camper today. Got another piece of the puzzle welded in today: Not a brilliant picture as my phones camera now has a scratched lens. The final piece is cut and ready to go in once i figure out where my drills are so i can drill some holes for plug welding.
Got the rest of the arch repaired now. Just needs some paint applying now and the filler on the outer arch rubbing down and painting. A couple of bits under the windscreen are also a little 'soft' so i might as well do those while i'm at it.
Keep at it dude and well have a min imeet in the lakes one weekend on a campsite suitable for your mrs Lighter nights coming soon aswell so things always seem to progress better
Sounds like a plan. Weather is lovely up here at the moment. Bit of fillering done to the cab step: Just needs sanding and paint now.
Sanded and primed arch step. Good thing about the warm weather is that paint dries really quickly so i've actually managed to get it nearly finished. I might even get it topcoated tomorrow.
I forgot just how cool the original horn sounds. Just like the one on the original herbie films, a sort of asthmatic weeze. Sounds just like this one 20 seconds in. Herbies Horn
Its coach paint, applied with a brush. I bought a 5 litre tin for £15 off someone on a vw forum about 8 years ago. Only problem is it fades like crazy so any touch-ups are way darker than the paint on the van even though its from the same tin and was stirred really well. I got a few repairs under the windscreen welded in today. Its gonna definately need a complete new front panel next year at the very latest as its mostly crispy metal and years of filler round the windscreen.
