without wanting to hijack the thread, i understand the ideal of enjoying work, don't get me wrong i don't care that i hate going to work, work is a means to an end for me, as long as i pay my way i'm happy, sure it would be good to enjoy my job but then i'd have to care and i don't, all i care about is finishing it a.s.a.p and getting onto my time. I've worked all my life and never claimed dole.

The fact that you don't like your job is perfectly ok because you are doing it as a means to an end. You are living your life the way you want to and as long as your doing that what other people think is irrelevant.

yes but to do that i'd need to be more responsible or care about it..... it's a vicious circle.

  7. Same here on both points!! I will one day do what I want for a living, til then I do what I do!!! and if anyone does not like it, well they can poke it where the sun don't shine!!!

  8. I am sure you are in the minority not enjoying your job .....

  9. Do what you enjoy , too many people get a job and thats it , love what you are doing it takes the biggest part of your life so best to enjoy it ,if your not get out , i used to enjoy my job , and worked self employed for 30 years , i never worked for anyone i didnt want too ,nor for the i will pay you next monthers , best not have all your eggs in one basket or they squeeze your nuts . Pay how you expect to be paid and enjoy your money. Work hard play hard , all work no play is a slippery road. I gave it up when it gave me grief and the rules and regs made it madness . Good luck with what ever you choose n if you feel yourself saying i havnt got time , youve got something not quite right . Just my experience , we are all different . Take care of the ones that mean the most to you . Once again good luck !!Yep one life for sure , who knows whats around the corner . Take care.:hattip:

  11. You sound like you don't enjoy the 'easy life' type of job as much as you claim to. Maybe you just haven't found anything that you love doing yet?

  13. Recently work had become a bit stagnant, plenty of work but all the same the same old full length interior in oak, and it gets quite repetitive at times in the same 9x5' box.
Whilst talking to someone about this and them mentioning my previous talks about CNC's, they have offered to come in and fund one, which would make work challenging again. With more interior options ect.
They seem very enthusiastic and keen with lots of ideas. Just awaiting some details to get put together.
Option B if all else fails is sell up and get a normal job.
