I used one of these http://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/victr...4cdKYeTto6zhzIhc9PEqqk0E1XVfLH4w1QRoCiUfw_wcB Guy who fitted it said it was very good, only put it in last week so il see
So basically I just need a 30A relay, some 4mm sq wire, couple of inline fuses, and a battery ground cable. Almost TOO easy
It is easy. You're adding a wire between the batteries with an electric on/off switch to automate connecting and disconnecting said batteries.
http://www.towsure.com/towbar-split-charge-relay-wiring-kit-self-switching Bit cheaper and free collection.
That would of been good but I refuse to spend any money at towsure nowadays the bunch of sphincters. Had an 18 month battle with them
Very true, I charge mine before I leave and stick it on as soon as I get back. But the split charge keeps it going during the journey at least. Obviously have to remember to do the charge thing......... Or fit solar so you don't have to worry about forgetting to stick your leisure battery in charge three years running...
People have mentioned running a separate wire from battery to feed a fridge, or having the leisure fuse box up front. Is it feasible to run from leisure batteryb A fuse box in rear of van and A fuse box at front of van and A feed for fridge. So 3 wires from leisure batt ?
Yep that's what I do, fuse box under r and r and a fuse box up front. My fridge runs off the rear fuse box as it doesn't pull that much current
Ooh I could rip a tissue I'm so excited, or crush a grape even. The wire from lb to fusebox at ftont, 40a/ 6mm2 cable should be ample, allowing for voltage drop blah blah? For stereo, dash fan, phone charging.
