i have just got a better view on my laptop - it is indeed a aug 72 - may 73 high light , it could be tax exempt anyway if it was made before dec 72 which looks possible as it is the same as mine and a few others on here , but that J plate would defo set alarm bells ringing for me because it is definitely not a a 1970 no way - soz .

As for late body on early chassis - rubbish ! way too much work and the price would be double that to cover the cost and why would you do that anyway all earl,y parts are just as available as lates.

    possibly a registration error but somehow i think it's a tarted up 72 .

No westy interior , no louvres or slider windows and the front passenger side wheel arch looks poorly done in the picture , 20k - you could do better and be more sure imo .

  2. I agree, could be an error, could also be a ringer. Not so bad if it was an early 73 rung to get the free tax, slightly more alarming if it's been rung for more sinister reasons.

It's not running wide 5's either. Time to walk away

  6. That's just a wrong un'. Get the police round there. Chassis swap my arse......
Do nothing about this type of thing and you can't complain when your bus gets nicked.

  7. Has anyone reported this to the site admin for Gumtree.

  8. Its over priced and a ringer

As the real chassis number and plate will be long gone, it will be impossible to identify the bus so the cops will do ziltch.

It's on GumTree.....Says it all really.
The idea of a chassis swap is quite funny though.
For less than that you can have mine. Bare metal photographic resto, 90% + original metal, not stolen, etc etc

  12. but it has been converted to run on unleaded so thats a bonus ;) ;D ;D

  15. And another thing to consider, is that the chassis number isn't actually stamped on the chassis... it's just stamped in the metal work in the engine bay.... so a chassis swap would be pointless

So to fit a late on early chassis you just need to change the front, the back the door steps and the middle ;D

To be honest i don't have a problem with the tax thing but i do have a issue with a trade person trying to con people that's its anything other than a crossover on a early plate.

The danger is as the body might of been tax free anyway is it a stolen one with a scraped van identity i would be checking the numbers very carefully.

As i said before for £20k there are other vans with less question marks
