friend of mine restores them he contacted me as he bought a very rear one with a factory side car , i and wanted me to fix the side car for him , owen nw rare as a second hand coffin
there's something so beautiful about the shapes of designs around this era.......scooters in particular reflect this
My friend is completing a 'light re-restore' on his series 2 ready for sale, cant have done more than 1000 miles since a full restore, by him, 8 years ago? ish. Has offered it to me in the colour of my choosing which is very tempting, but as per my other post I think I'll stick to my Vespa. Pic here for those interested (sorry for the highjack)
There seems to be an affinity between buses and scooters, I'd noticed quite a few enthusiasts on here other wise I wouldn't of bothered posting it up, I will stick some pics of this weekends progress up later, in the pub at the mo
Had an SX200 in my youth......sold a Heinkle Trojan bubble car to buy it..........just think what the pair of them must be worth !! Sold it in 72 for £50 to get a car. Saw one in a shop the other month and they were asking £ 10k....it was very nice though.
Nice work @Keith.H I think you may have to remove the bump-stop as well as the rear shock to give you clearance to refit the cylinder head cowl. It's been a few years.......
I'd love a lammy. Sadly I (a) can't afford it and (b) wouldn't have the time to enjoy it. Although I do have a romantic notion of having one on a custom trailer behind the bus, to use when camped up on holiday to pop to the shops of a morning.
I know where your coming from, the other half has the same notion, my plan was to get it in one lump and running, then flog it and spend the money on the bus, she had other ideas
Thats a really nice find at that price. Done a series 2 resto a couple of years ago. Still have a 59 TV175 2x Li 150 2x Vespa 100 sports and an unfininshed lammy chop...im sure they breed in my workshop The finished series 2 My TV175 which i have given to my dad on permanent loan
