kept my first car .not

Mk1 1100 Escort. Not quick but got me around. Not fussed to have kept it but it was good fun all the same.

 

1990 mini cooper bought from new

 

10 year old mechanically challenged N -reg Morris Marina for £100 back in 1985. 150 miles to the gallon ... of oil.
Dont really miss it but it was a good introduction - some of the tools I bought for it work well with the N reg camper I have now.
The starter gear ring was shrunk onto the flywheel but mine fell off. Would eventually hammer itself back on by hitting the oil pump. Got fed up with the noise so I hacksawed it out, and learnt to push start the car by myself on the flat or rolled downhill.
Could have been a Citroen Dyane for £80 but that had moss growing on it.
