  2. Oh eck! Still got my second car. 71 Beetle, first was written off, 71 Beetle! See a theme here...

  3. Mine was a Morris Minor (Boris the Morris). E reg (I'm not that old - it was back in the mid/late 1980s!). It got stolen and found in a garage near a dodgy council estate, with some bits stripped. The insurance company wrote it off, and I had no idea then that you could buy it back from them. I really wish I'd known cos only a few bits had been taken and it would have easy-ish to get replacements. Though if it hadn't been stolen, I don't know if I'd have sold it at some point for something a bit more modern ...

    RIP Boris

1st was a Mk1 Escort estate, yuk! second was a Bedford CF1 camper, only good thing about it was it was wide enough to sleep across the van so it seemed much more roomy!

  11. My first car was a rusty old Fiat Uno 55. I smashed it into the back of a Ford Cargo flatbed lorry at 50mph and completely destroyed the front end and bent the chassis. Do I wish I'd kept it? No.

  12. A Morris Marina pick up, possibly one of the worst vehicles ever built by BL.

That's exactly what my brother had, 2ltr GXL it's what I learned to drive and passed my test in! Imagine trying to insure that for a learner now!

  16. Austin Maestro that my gramps gave me (to be fair - he couldn't have sold it if he'd wanted to!). Despite it rattling if going over 50 mph and having more rust than metal (Hmmm - bit of a similarity to the beautiful Daisy!), I really did love Ernie. That said, I wouldn't want him back!! (Although I do miss the flying pigs that I had along the back window). Ahh the memories!!

  17. moggy 1000 with a 1100 engine init, cost 125 quid, wish i kept it. sold it and brought a ford consul, The biggest piece of Marmitee i ever owned, sold that and got a mini clubman, wist i'd kept that one, as i replaced most of the panels on it and put a new subframe on it. my 1st bit of resto of vehicles.

  18. I had a 1.0 12v W reg Corsa. I loved it as it was my own but I ruined the handling (what handling!!) by putting on really wide 17 inch rims that were originally intended for a sierra cosworth. The tyres scraped the arches (so i took my dads jigsaw to the metal lips below the plastic trim!), it wasn't lowered so looked like a monster truck and I put lexus lights on it.........as if this isn't embarrassing enough I also added a 15 inch Sub which took up all of the boot......I kinda wish I still had it as it would be amusing to look at (but not to ever drive again!). I've always thought it would be cool to have kept every car I have owned but I always need the money to buy the next one!

  19. Triumph Mayflower, cost me £15...parked in the road so the neighbours got the blame :D Strange old thing very smooth and quiet being a side valve jobbie though not for long as I fitted an off the shelf twin pipe Peco exhaust....then became smooth and noisy. No front passenger seat for some reason so could only carry two in the back. Sold it to the local milkman who being a bit of a tearaway promptly managed to turn it into a 3 cylinder wreck whilst trying to get it to go above 50mph.

  20. Mine was a '71 MG Midget. My brother "helped out" by crashing it on the highway at +70 miles an hour. Bye!Bye!. Had a newly rebuilt motor in it. I was borrowing my parents car to drive to work, and the motor went in it, had to trade the MG motor for a Mazda motor to get their car back on the road for them.
