Jumps out of 2nd gear

    Hi guys, This has probably been asked 100's of times before!!! I have just come to the end of a two yr resto on my Baywindow, and have jUST fitted a recon 2ltr engine. I have now just found out that the 2nd gear keeps popping out when it is selected. Do I need a new gear box. I have spoken to Cogbox who has told me a recon gearbox will be £980 plus £90 for the courier. Seems very price to me. I have never driven the bus as it was in a mess when I bought it. I have spoken to the previous owner who confirmed they had a few problems with the gears. Please any advice would be good. :-[

    if its a reconditioned gearbox, surely its covered under warrenty?

    Do you know what box you have? If you put it up it'll help the clever people tell you the problem.

    I can only assume 2L gearboxes are a lot more special.

    In 2011 SGS Aircooled charged me
    £495+VAT for recon 1600TP gearbox
    £200+VAT for fitting (5 hours)

    Check the shifter coupling at the nose of the gearbox first... if it is warn, it won't allow you to select 2nd or 4th properly...
