heres one for the joinery / cabinet making experts on here :)

I’m starting renovating the westy overhead locker and side wardrobe but some of the laminate needs glueing.

What is the best adhesive to use please?

    Any recommendations gratefully received :D

  2. Contact adhesive is the best but its messy.
Use a cheap 1"brush do both sides let it dry then apply firm pressure for a few mins.

    Ex cabinet maker lol

  3. PVA with newspaper and large plywood & weight spread over to even out the pressure.

  5. Evo stick contact adhesive, as @nell said. Not sure PVA would be any good. Both surfaces would need to be porous. I think

Just been sticking some veneer .... contact works well ... almost too well.
    PVA a waste of time.

  8. +1 for Evo Stick type contact adhesive, remember to open the windows as its a bit pungent in enclosed spaces.

  9. I’d wait until he’s sober to get a sensible answer or not
Not PVA !!!! Impact/ contact adhesive is probably best. The problem is your applying it to previously glued areas and it may not adhere that well.

  10. Use a heat gun to remove any old adhesive, then contact adhesive spread on both surfaces, leave till touch dry then stick em together....clean any excess off with acetone.

  11. If the laminate you are sticking down isn't completely flat, warm it up with a heat gun and it will be pliable and less likely to twang back up once stuck.

Thanks for further information again it’s appreciated :D

  13. Pva will work fine if it's new and you have a lot of pressure to compress them.
Let the chemicals in the evo stick do it for you.

You can buy it cheaper from carpet fitters or roofing supplier people but mainly in 5 lt times don't get the spray can stuff it's bobbins

Flour and water has a good adhesive effect failing that try a suitable sikaflex product or boil up some glue on @Geordie 's wood burner.
