JK are only doing what others have already, for example Status VW have tried to pursue this quality aspect for some time http://www.status-vw.co.uk/shop/index.html VEWIB for example?
JK have normally been great and I mostly get the parts next day, only a few times I have been a little dissapointed with the quality but there are far worse about.
But regardless of this you have to give them credit for having the b@lls to go on this forum and post/explain/defend their corner, how many others would enter a lions den.

 

I think they're trying to sabotage techenders - we won't be able to nip to Status for panick parts on Saturday.

 

Well it didnt turn up for some reason, I'm not there so can't find out but they are going to redeliver it today, with no mention of a card being left or non delivery.
This is what bugs me with delivery companies they don't bother to deliver when you've been at home all day waiting. But like I said I'm not there so don't know if they did or didn't try, I know the out-laws are there a they got the builders in but they could have been making to much noise.

Mine did turn up on Monday. I do have a question though, the last 2 items I have ordered have both been open when delivered. I dont mean a small bit either but the entire side of the box. The contents have all been there so its not been a problem I wasnt sure if it is JK or the courier that opens them?

Josh_JK I'd buy some if they were available too, the closest I've found are these http://vwparts.aircooled.net/Heat-Exchanger-Heater-Box-Right-043-255-108H-p/043-255-108h.htm the shipping from USA is prohibitive. Would you be able to find out who manufactures these for aircooled.net? - I'd like to see some proper cast aluminium cores like these for maximum heat transfer, stainless skins, and flaps that dont leak would be a bonus.

 

And ones for us boys with the type 4 in the back too

 

Just to clarify - were they open and left open, or opened and taped back up?

I know we're planning on doing random quality control 'spot checks' where we pull out a few parcels before they're sent out to make sure everything is present and correct, but I don't think these have started yet (and we'd obviously tape the box back up!), so it's likely that for some reason they were opened by the courier but I'm not sure why they would need to

Thanks for the reply. It was left open, there was no tape. As I say it was all there so not a problem I was just curious. It only seems to be the larger items (This one was a heater pipe) I have also had stuff from Newton and Commercial that has arrived fully open as well?
Maybe I just have a nosey delivery driver? I'll have to try and subtley test him on the contents on the next delivery

 

Ask him if he has a T2. Perhaps he is on the look out for certain parts

Wouldn't have been us then, we'd have at least taped it back up - Maybe Lofty was right and your delivery driver is fishing for specific parts
