I sort of do that, as I go along, tbh. Just makes life easier. I would get out and mess with the van, as I have started to turn more attention to it, but it’s flippin’ hard enough as it is, working on it, at the moment. And as always, my ‘emergency crutches’, for gout attacks and escapades like this, were up in the eaves of my garage, so I had to hop out, push the work van out of the way of the garage door, as I park it up close, to stop people nicking my tools, get into the garage and up into the roof.
Then put it all back again. Also, this morning at silly o clock, (hence the early post),:the pain was so much that it woke me up. I rang 111 as I thought it was broken, and the woman on the other end said wait until 9.00am as we have a local x Ray unit down the road, or get my wife to drive me to the RUH 15 miles away. She herself, has a bad knee, as she twisted it, a couple of weeks ago, and I didn’t want her to drive. ( incidentally, my foot is like it is, as I stood on a pallet, yesterday, which I didn’t know was rotten, went through it, and over, at the same time.and felt a *snap*).
Got to the X-ray unit this morning at 9.00 to find that today of all days, it is closed. Came home and dosed myself up on painkillers. Just woke up. Foot still hurts, but the swelling is subsiding, and it moves a bit more.
    Thanks for asking, though.

Tbh a sprain is as painful as a break I think. I strained/sprained my back once flipping a radiator. Not heavy just a stupid reach. By the time we were at the next job I was seizing and ended up a month off work! My boss said not to come back early as I’d knacker myself for longer. He also recommended a physio type person to go to.

Pain waking you up is bobbins. I get that with my hands sometimes. :(

Hopefully you can chill enough to recover. In a slightly old before my time manner I did jigsaws or airfix models to take up my time a bit. Hope you recover soon, and your wife
