The gasket and clamp set came today , i am thinking it would be easierand quicker just to take it to the local tyre and exhaust centre and let them refit it properly , i have habit of snapping bolts :-

  7. Hmm. I wouldn't let a Kwik-Fit fitter anywhere near my van...

  8. Dont be lazy malc do it yourself

Christ after everything youve overcome i thought youd be happy at a light tinkering job dude

Its a fiddle getting the clamps on at first but once youve done one side the other will take no time at all

  10. Yeh you cant get better than an old git fitter

  11. :yeah that:

  12. I once had a quick fit fitter shear the fake bolts on my wheel trims with a rattle gun

    What a twonk

  15. Instead of removing the exhaust , cut the gasket thing in half and put loads of exhaust paste in...

So , i took it to a reputable local exhaust centre , the fitter took one look and called the boss , he said there is a broken stud , shouldn't be a worry but the monza four tip is , they are rubbish says he , he told me he served his apprenticeship at vw when these were newer and suggested i think about buying a proper exhaust for it and bringing it back , he said that he would try and get the monza right but i would be wasting my money and be wiser to get the proper job for the cost of a hours labour i would be sorted . he couldn't source one cheaper than me , complete kit £119 from vwh minus our discount .

going to order one in the morning and get it fitted friday me thinks .

  17. Best thing i did was to ditch the monza exhaust

  19. They are very restrictive dude and even woodys ditched his in favour of a quiet pack

Have you gone for a stock exhaust?

It would be your best bet if you want the vans original heating to work as the stock exhaust has the pre heat pods on it

  20. Looks like you've found someone who knows what they're talking about - go for it!

A stock exhaust'll be fine and much better than the Monza four-t it, which are cheap and...well, they're just cheap.

They should be able to fix the stud.

    Sorted!
