Is it safe to use a projected electrode plug?

Hi all

I have got a 1.7 cb type 4 engine. Is it ok to use a ngk plug with a projected electrode (BP6ES) or is that a no no? I've been told its ok and I can pick them up locally for buttons but don't want to damage anything.

I'd appreciate your comments
