We had some in the steel works in Sheffield. There was two different sizes/weights if I remember correctly. They were invaluable for getting into some of the works departments with tight turns and narrow entrances. I guess they replaced the horse and cart.
It looks like the kind of thing they use on RoRo ferries for articulated trucks when only the trailers are put on board ..
