I’ve done work for what they became recently ( DhL) they first got absorbed or morphed into excel logistics who were the logistics side, BRS remained as the truck side and then relatively recently got bought by DHL Not quite that simple but that’s the shortened version.
Poor management at higher level for sure. Poor management in the latter days at lower level again definitely, but when they trained me on behalf of another company I worked for their management training was par excellence, but that was mid 70’s and a management job was still regarded as important, nowadays you have managers without any formal training managing lots of people!
