Try cherished banner. All members get 15% off and in general they have been very good which is why we have them as main sponsors.

No, you have it right Ken.
They're good until you question their policy; then it becomes clear they either lie or don't understand what they sell you. God knows what they'd be like in the event if a claim.
I for one will be shopping around.
    Try RH Specialist Insurance.

thanks for that i think you have to be careful with all the insurances thats why i posted this hope some one comes up with a good deal and had no problem when claiming. i will read all your one properly later to take it in a bit more.

  6. You need to read Baysearchers thread on Cherished and taking your bus abroad to understand why he is not quite so keen on them any more. I was pleased to hear about the issues so as to be fully informed. I have stayed with Cherished because we are going to holiday in the UK this year!

  7. Contact your local Insurance broker, I did after being given the telephone run around by Cherished:mad:
My cover costs 98 pounds year, fully Comp. 3000 miles.
Its with a syndicate at Lloyds in London.

It's always best to shop around and to be fair until you claim you never really know how good they are.
I had an issue with. Previous sponsor on here with a car policy but luckily Cvi helped with jargon and it got sorted out. That's my own experience.

The difference in experience is probably because you own this place, I'm merely a member.
I'd never recommend them to anyone again which is a shame as I used to sing their praises.

  10. I'm with Carole Nash. Almost the cheapest from about 6 I tried (the cheapest did not seem to know much about classics even though they were specialist). Very friendly, helpful and quick.
Of course, you never really know how good they are until you need them !

  11. I use Adrian Flux, not had to claim so cant comment on how good they are, but seem ok so far....

Baysearcher, I know why you'd think that but that fact didn't stop the other company screwing me.
I'd still recommend cherished but like all companies it's important for people to read small print regardless of being recommended or not.

Jk have an insurance banner too but I've not had any dealings with them so would be wrong for me to recommend them.

  13. Im with JK and they seem ok. Although ive not had to make a claim.

No-one does read the small print though - that's why I was the first to point out the repatriation issue to Cherished....
You shoul be able to rely on what they tell you verbally too but that's certainly not the case with Cherished.

I was with JK and had a claim and they were great and paid up the full agreed value no problem.
I am now with Cherished and found them great to deal with very helpful on the phone and called back when they said they would and got a good price.

  16. I must admit to seeing Baysearchers point of view ... if I believed someone had lied to me I would not do business with them ... despite reading loads a legal docs for work I'm not very good when it comes to reading small print either, perhaps a lesson learnt for all of us.
