I'll tell you what will kill the forum......

I’ve not advocated non silliness.

The threads are the index to the site….plonking nonsense in at that level of the hierarchy doesn’t oil the machine it clogs it up.

I understand fully people think it’s easy to avoid….only if you saw the nucleus thread and that involves being in here all the time which is impractical.

My point is the forum isn’t as busy as it once was….this will only speed that decline up….imagine opening a book and the index simply said balloons, pontoons, platoons, the toon, too soon and each chapter just has claptrap bar the one that started it all. Would you bother?


If you want my true thoughts….here they are…

It used a mixed bag of opinions, experiences, humour, stories etc.

Very rare was there a day without a genuine laugh out loud moment or three, a daft picture, an interesting story, a rant, an argument, an eye widening political view, a terrible injury, useful technical info etc.

Be honest….does it still tick all of those boxes because the place used to with ease?

I get silliness…..but this feels like the exact same knock knock joke told over and over right in the index of the site.

The behaviour Im talking about is relatively new….I’m calling it out as I think it’s not going to help the forum…..it’s nowt to do with my age….I’d have concluded what I have 20 years ago or in 20 years time.

 

There's a couple of main culprits on the wordplay side of things , one is a genuinely funny bloke , the other one is just tedious and trying to be funny ..

Bored already….

A semi serious thread trashed. Some of it for good humour, but your right [mention]Moons [/mention]. I see a load of stupid duplicate threads, wonder what I’ve missed and then close the app to find something more interesting to do.

There’s a few people that used to post quite a bit and now they’ve practically fox trotted off.
