If the t/gate badge recess was filled would the filler fall out? Anyone done it?

I have got one of the new tailgates with the badge recess. If I was to fibreglass fill the badge hole, then a skim of filla would it all fall out? Has anyone tried it. I thought about welding the hole smaller but didn't want to buckle a new boot

 

Do you not fancy a big Brazilian badge on the back?

 

Cheers for the replies. Didn't fancy the badge. I was trying to keep the outside original (ish) but get with the times inside. If I see a bay driving down the road and I see the badge on the back I sort of don't give it a second glance.

 

Make sure you bare metal the recess... Like Zed has said... failure to do that will cause it to crack out!!

 

If you bare metal, you might want to apply some etch primer before you fibre glass

 

i would weld a plate over and then put on a skim of filler
