no problem, £5.00 posted, same as Stuart & Simon initially! Let me know how you want to go ahead, we're making a pair later, we can do yours at the same time :D

  2. thanks. it seems there are two options for shape, either 1 per each carb or two separate once for each venture:

This is the single 3mm spacer unsure what these are made from works out about 15 quid for the four required with the vat and post on top:

This is the double base gasket - clearly 4 of these would be required to fit the spacers (assuming you replace the ones that are already on) - works out again at about 15 quids plus the post, spacers could clearly be this profile. Nicer job I reckon but what's achievable?

We can make either of those, its whatever your preference is! The bottom one will be a bit more fiddly but easily made - we would ideally need a template for either, we only have ICT ones in existence.
Top gasket would be £5.00 per pair posted (as per ICTs) or the bottom £10 for the pair posted.

Let me know what you want to do mate :D

  4. If I purchase a set of the bottom gaskets should I send to you. Im happy to have whichever is easiest tbh. let me know and if sending out to you pm me an addy for wherever you want them sent to.

  5. Eurocarb sell the thick ICT gaskets. I fitted a set to my plum skussy beetle, but it still boils the fuel.

I put ICT's on my speedster today and doubled up on the thick gaskets.

It's cured the problem as far as I can tell.

We had the ICT/boiling issue on our 1641 (type 1) but swapped the carbs over to a type 4 with the 4mm Phenolic spacers Ive been making..single gasket at the manifold to head end and one between carb and manifold and it works a treat  plus ours are half the price :D

  7. I was just planning on one between the manifold and the carb. Hopefully this will be enough.

It will be more than enough!

On the type 4, I did a bit of overkill (based on the westy's FI manifold spacers) and wanted to see how it behaved before we removed the lower one next to the cyl. head. It may work, it may not, its no big deal to remove them.

  9. Id thought of that to but much easier to put onto the bottom of the carb. Means manifold stays a bit warmer too

Fuel suspension doesn't go down the manifold for FI. The rules are different, you might get carb icing.

I did wonder that, I'll report back next Sunday night were gonna put 140 miles on the motor at the weekend!

  12. With a single carb, the icing is usually on the manifold.

It is much easier to make your new ones to fit between the carb & manifold as there is usually plenty of thread going spare on the studs.
Let me know when you have stock & I will buy a load for each kit I fit.
