Each to their own. I thought he Was Shiite. Obviously not sour grapes as (unlike the Welsh ;-)) we won.

The TMO and touch judges were appalling too. Read interrupting Curry’s lift on Itoje to score their only try? Numerous forward passes missed?

To be honest I liked the way he reffed the match, he let the game flow, made the right decisions every time, the 2 he disallowed were perfectly correct.

The maul law isn't clear, it states the ball can move within the maul but nothing more, but on the basis that any ball passed forward is an offence in rugby he got it right.

The match this weekend against the Boks will be much tougher, their scrum is a lot stronger than New Zealands so I expect England to have a tougher time there, probably conceding more penalties, they compete more competitively at the breakdown than NZ do so the turn over count will be lower, they also have their sevens playing winger back.

It will be a close one.

So England have never benefited from refereeing misses?

You know this, it all balances out in the end.

Claiming the ref was bias because he has bias against the English is just plain daft....you can’t hold territory like England did if the ref is against you.

As for England, your best was better than their worst. Doesn’t happen often for any team playing Enzed so good for you, true fans should be elated.

If the English want the rest of the world to support them then could I nominate people demonstrating a touch class in victory? Personally if it’s a great game won by adventure and brilliant execution all good. The semi final was for England, here’s hoping for the final.

Course they have; and if we'd lost, I'd have kept it buttoned.
I don't for one minute claim everything went against us, but how many forward passes got missed? How about England players getting dragged off line-out ball? 2nd disallowed try; comes down to interpretation as far as I'm aware. I don't remember seeing other try's getting disallowed for the same reason.
Fact is I thought Owens, the touch judges, and the TMO had a shocker.
We're so used to the rest of the World supporting anyone BUT England that we'll save the class until Saturday. How's about class in defeat? The Welshies had started bleating about our extra rest day before they'd even played (and lost)!

  5. I'd like to wish our Welsh great sporting compardres the best of luck in the upcoming game.

We were bad, their defence was excellent.

  11. Nothing wrong with the referee. This isn't football - you can't just shout at the ref when it doesn't go your way. SA played a better game.

Needed him today. I’m consoling myself thinking about my mate who never watches rugby in any shape or form and because he has the money has paid nearly 10k to go watch the game :D

  19. I was planning to watch it in the local . Got there at about 8.15 to find ' reserved' tags on most of the tables and the place filling up with immaculate current England shirts worn by cocks who wouldn't normally be seen dead in the place with mini Jermima and Jeremys jacked up on quinoa fruit shoot and rice cakes ... To cap it all they were selling coissons on the bar - and no meat option .

Had a pint , made a swift exit and watched the game at home - contemplating the joys of SW That London , i came to the conclusion the only upside was at a fiver a pint I'd saved a few quid

S.A stopped England playing their normal game but it was a very poor match even if England had won ...
