So many single occupant cars on the road still, they can’t all be vital workers commuting?

I’m certain a lot are just out on a drive to break the monotony and take advantage of the unexpected holiday. You can tell regular road users if you’re on the road enough. I’ve just seen a car with its top down and four of them on a jolly. It must be difficult to resist this nice weather. Tbh I can see how it’s appealing, but sadly it’s wrong.

  8. It’ll take a while for sure, I’m down to my chest feeling like I’ve done a 5 mile run when I’ve walked one room to another, which is an improvement I’m happy about.

That sounds about the same. I'm confined to the back garden today though someone has just fired up their lawnmower

  12. Possibly, my girlfriend thinks it’s likely what I’ve got is it, but without any testing being done it’s impossible to say for sure.

There is zero requirement for anyone to be a vital worker....only to work from home if you can and socially distance when you are out and about.

I do get that, but somehow the fact they’re out on a jolly possibly using cash points, fuel pumps, handrails, you get the gist.

Possibly right to a point. The bottle bit is more mr white van man. Farmers and farm workers aren’t the cleanest people at the best of times in my experience. There is an awful lot of paperwork and form filling going on in my job these days, which has the potential to infect. There’s fuel pumps, diesel cards, handrails, mill workers, other drivers and a lot more other ways we are possibly exposed to virus most every two or three hours, the rest of the time we’re in our own clean environment, so I’m not sure it’s low risk, but probably not high risk like pickle’s other half.

I think by a huge margin, most cases will be spread directly rather than via surfaces.
That doesn't make surfaces safe, I'm not suggesting that, but people are far more dangerous, partly because so many of them haven't quite come to terms with the situation, but mainly the spitty thing. 2m is cool, but I'm not going be chat with someone while downwind of them however far away they are. ;)

Heartening here at last, people who'd normally say hello just nod and keep there mouths shut.

The chemist won't let you in the shop, they look like they are wetting there pants and wish you'd hurry up and go. Gloved and masked they put the stuff in a bag and hand it over, throw the gloves, put on clean to do the card thing - swipe only, no cash, then throw those gloves too. They must have a lot of gloves.

The other local "shop" is a small garage & gun shop. No more than two in at a time but the guy is an idiot, no precautions, making jokes, it's just flu. He's not attempting to either protect himself or prevent spreading it.

While the Chemist and most of the locals are being good, it doesn't take too many eejits to make a mockery of everyone else's precautions.

So, anyone out there for whatever reasons best remember that the best we can hope for is people trying not to catch it themselves while not really giving a poop how much they spread it around if they already unknowingly have it. You will start to notice as I have that the guy working in the shop or wherever will touch any and everyone's whatever with the same pair of gloves. He's ok so that's fine. Grrr. Our marina manager is in this category though thankfully they just decided to open the office only on Fridays. However that's only because some marine association has scared the poop out him in terms of such offices and other facilities getting sued when this is all over. Maybe they'll start to clean the bogs better, not that I'll be using them. His gloves are purely for his protection.
