How to attach Westfalia grill?

  1. Oh yeah they normally fold down over the gangway.

Ha ha me neither but all the Continental's I've seen have had the hob drop down from inside the wardrobe across the walk-through. The Malaga was like @buc 's as was the rare Oxford IIRC. Buc's parents one could b very unusual...:D

Ah. Mystery solved. Just seen in another post that the bus is a 78. Too late for a Continental so perhaps it's something else? @buc, what do you think?

    I'm going by this [IMG]

They've got a fair bit of documentation. They bought it in 82 from the original owners

I am sure there's a clue somewhere in the photo but can't see it!
Do I need to zoom in? :)

  8. It's not a continental as in a 72 /73 westy but a later continental Malaga or oxford ... @Ploptop2 ptop2

I'll try dig out the documentation tomorrow.

It's hilarious trying to look through Google images for comparison... did Westfalia build two vehicles alike??

I've managed to scan in the original documentation from Westfalia, unfortunately it's too large to upload here. What other hosting sites do people recommend?

  11. Can you put it on Facebook?

    Awesome literature!
Baduras is an anorak source of Westfalia T2 conversions & if you're that way inclined, an easy way to loose an hour or two:rolleyes:

Anyway, here is the layout for the 'official' UK RHD early Continental, hob across walk-through and gold upholstery
    http://www.vw-t2-bulli.de/index.php?de-westfalia-so-72-13-continental

It looks like your Continental is based on the LHD Malaga but in RHD....hob by slider and plaid upholstery (like yours).

I wonder if it is the Oxford but with literature referencing the earlier Continental in name only?

Is there an 'SO' number on the build plate, usually tacked to the front of bed base?

    Interesting bus @buc

    Here's the build number:

(fire extinguisher just out of shot that was actually used in anger when she caught fire in Germany in the late 80's - we very nearly lost her were it not for this and a restaurant owner running out with another extinguisher. Been replaced since of course)

Judging by the photos she's pretty similar to the oxford but the cooker unit has a different frontage and we have head rests. Same fabric though.

And thanks for all those links, that's a deep old rabbit hole ;)
