How much do you reckon I've (my lease company) have just been charged for 2 rear 255 35 18 run flat tyres for my motor? £659.00!! At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!
Well, they're very low profile and massively wide. So therefore they've got you by the short and curlies.
It must be nice to be able to afford that for tyre's some people i know live on less than that for a month and my wife earn's less than that for a month's work !
They're Bridgestone tyres. The guy thought they'd refuse them as he didn't have any cheaper ones in but after a quick call they approved them. Glad I didn't have to pay for them. It makes you wonder how people afford it if the car is their own!
Run-flats have very little going for them really. They ruin the ride and cost a fortune. If it was mine I'd change to standard tyres and get a space-saver spare.
I personally don't like run flats they are a bugger to fit and you don't know if you have a flat until the car computer tells you and if you look at the tyre it will look completely normal because the side walls are so stiff they don't move! You can fit normal tyres and deactivate the run flat sensing in the ecu with the appropriate diagnostic computer but they won't tell you this they will sell you new run flats because they are soo expensive!!
