  3. Hey, I was just about to post this question myself! Funny coincidence.
I have seen one way to clean it but there's no way in Hell I'm doin' all that.
It was a post in another site where a guy took his top off his bus, removed the canvas and then bleached the entire underside of the top. Then he scrubbed it a bit and hosed it off.
It looked as good as new when he was finished, but forget all that mess. Too much work just to remove a few spots in my opinion.
I have considered just trying to wipe it with a wet cloth with bleach, but I am SURE I would drip it right on my carpet and upholstery.
I hope somebody has a better idea.

  4. That was me... I posted that ages ago.. ;D

It's the only way to do it properly ;)

  18. H'mm, looks familiar.

I firstly tried Cillit Bang 'with Bleach'. Worked fairly well, but left a lot of residue, so I switched to the cheapest bleach money can buy, and diluted it 10:1 with water.

Here we see a 'before' :

A few small clean areas there (tests). Apply with a small stiff brush (having covered interior in card board boxes and dust sheets, and of course wearing eye protection).

Leave for 5 mins, then wipe off with lots of clean water. Repeat for really moldy bits.

    and ...

I tried to avoid getting bleach on the canvas (even though mine is due to be replaced).

The 'before' looks better than it was - the difference is amazing. Wish I'd done this years ago....

It would be far easier to do this with the top off, then you could really rinse well, but this proves its feasible with it on.

Best get on and do the rest then ... ???

Its drying out now - will report on flock status :- (100% safe so far), and bleach smell levels tomorrow.

    cheers

  19. Excellent, I'm worried about dripping it on my seats or carpet, but I gues I could cover all these in black bags. :)
