Help with Westy bed hinges

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Lofty, May 23, 2013.

  1. Hi Lofty. Got the video from Fancy-bug which really helps in knowing how I should be putting it up/down. However having a couple of photos showing where the springs actually sit with it up and down would be useful.

Think my one spring is in the right place but that the metal bit that swings is bent which is why it isn't seating properly, and need to find a spring for the other side. Haven't yet had chance to take my seat out again though to look at it. I do know that the side with the missing spring is stupidly bent and I don't hold up much hope of being able to fit it and so still on the lookout for a replacement hinge.

Thanks for following up with me - is yours still working OK?

  2. Yeah mine is fine. I'll try and get some pics but now the seat is back on, space is tight. I managed to straighten mine by light tapping with a hammer whilst it was supported in a vice.

  3. Thanks - wouldn't worry too much as sure it will make sense once I get it out and look at it.

Kicking myself that I didn't do it before I fitted the seat now!

  4. These any help?

Culled from the Samba ages ago, so not mine ( I'll take them down if this offends)
