Help needed with how to fit Porsche seats please.

  1. Well after deciding to get rid of the cloth van bench seat that had been fitted to our camper, and converting her back to a walk through model but not being able to get hold of a decent set of front original seats at reasonable price, we decided to go for a set or porsche seats. I got a pair from a boxster, and got a local blacksmith to make me some frames to sit them on to allow them to be fitted to the tubs, but even though these frames are only about 1 inch tall, they seem to sit the seats about 1 inch to high, has anyone else fitted porsche seats, and do you have any top tips how best to fit them as low as possible. pictures would be great of your fittings if available.

Also wiring them in as they are electric, where have people taken the live feed from, or do i need to run a new feed from the battery to the fuse box to do it??? again any help welcome.

    Thanks.

You shoul be able to pretty much bolt them straight in without any adaptors, the wiring is pretty easy, live and earth you can wire them straight to the fuse box or to the battery with an inline fuse

  3. Passenger seat should just need power connection, I ran a new feed from leisure battery as stereo went off every time I moved the seat!

Drivers side was a little more difficult as there was a circuit board for position memory. I discarded board and wired motors to centre pins on switches. I then wired power to one side of switch and then crossed over supply to the other side of switch to reverse the motor.

Maybe you won't have this issue depending on your seat. At airport at moment so can't draw a picture. If you require further info then let me know and I'll post a photo later this week.

  4. When I put mine in I just removed the original runners from the tubs, then sat the new seat in and marked out the holes... drilled and fitted, don't forget to use thick washers on the nut to stop them pulling through in the event of an accident!!

The seats that were in mine were mounted on these cross bars so I just drilled and replaced with the Porsche ones! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1361970814.094465.jpg

Will be covered with carpet when I get round to it!
