Afternoon peoples The heater cable that (I think) operates the flap in the totem pole thing on my bus doesn't work. I can't remember exactly why! @pkrboo any idea Matt? You pointed it out to me at the last Techenders! Presumably this flap closes if that cable is knackered? Any idea what I need to buy? The usual suspects seem to sell about a bazillion connotations of heater cables.... Cheers
All depends on middle and year. But it a shirt cable, I bought one and had to cut the end off and bend it to suit, for my particular van.

Yep that's the one I bought (but for LHD) and cut one right angle off and bent a 'flat Z' into it. Have you got the clip @Baysearcher ? Are you teeing up TE jobs?

nope not that its the metal clip that holds the outer cable onto the bit near the lever. i seem to remember that you had the clip but not the cable. i think i said to look after it as there are like rocking horse poop and you were lucky to have it. unless that was someone else
Cable tie works fine if you don't want to buy the clip. Don't know what year your bus is baysearcher but mine is a 79 rhd and there was only a cable available for either earlier or LHD , but I bought it and it was fine
Incidentally you should still be able to flip the flap just by moving the lever itself, stop being lazy just bend down !
Hmm that rings a bell. Probably still fixed to the mechanism then I guess! Will get the cable ordered and fitted at TE hopefully (!)
