Was going to ask where the wire needed to go. My Big red knob flashes when I pull it out So it will glow when I'm driving at night? Cool
They're available from most places (as fitted to Brazilian vans, I think). Got mine from Megabug, I think. The giveaway is the resistor on the top, which dims the internal bulb at night.
Sorry to resurrect this but my indicators/hazards aren't working on my van. I've just bought a hazards flasher unit from Vw heritage and they still don't work I've not seen the unit as delivered straight to mechanic. However, the one I ordered corresponded to the part no of the one that came off the van. I've looked on megabugs site @75swampy and can't find them? @snotty - do you think the JK one would work? Do I need one with a diode to make it work? Mines a 78 US van
I'm sure I ordered mines from jk. Straight swap like for like with me. Did your indicators work before? I checked my fuse first as I blew a fuse playing about with the old switch. ( yes I know I should have disconnected the battery )
Hi pkrboo, It's the hazard switch. I'm hoping to pick up an indicator switch? Tomorrow from GSF maybe that will work @75swampy I ordered mine from vw heritage but it looks like the JK one and I used the vw part no from the old one which was also used on both sites. I've only just picked up the van and they've never worked for me I've changed fuses but to no avail. The van had an mot so they allegedly worked at some point! Not quite sure when tho.
@75swampy - sorry I forgot to ask. Is yours a US import? Did the JK part have a diode? Do you have the part number please? Thanks
The JK one looks ok, if it's this one http://www.justkampers.com/vw-t2-ba...ust-1967-to-may-1979-beetle-1968-to-1973.html
Mines is an 75 Aussie van but the switch I had was the same as above. Not sure how it came to be there. I'll check the part number. It's a hazard and indicator switch in one.
