I Noticed my hazard lights were not working, when I pulled the switch a solid indicator yellow light came up on the dash, I checked my indicators individually all were fine once I'd replaced a bulb at the back. Decided to check the connections on the hazard switch and it fell apart in my hand. I put it back together now my hazards and indicators don't work... aarrghhh. I'm looking at ordering the hazard switch as I guess it all runs through the same switch. I've looked on line and the switch I've got relates to a 68 - 73 model. Mines is a 1975. Is it the wrong switch that's been fitted before? What does a late bay hazard switch look like? This is what I've got.
That's a USA spec one, I can tell by the resistor, it means the switch lights up as soon as you put the lights on.
The switch in the picture should be the right one. As above, if you connect the extra "58" switch terminal to the instrument lights or sidelight fuse, it will glow in the dark. Very useful .
Maybe I should have started at the fuse Noticed later that one had blown but by then the switch had fallen apart so reckon it happened whilst I was checking the switch.
Tried putting it back together but the pull switch part wouldn't operate. Will try again tomoro but might be better off buying a new one
Cheers for the replies. Is there a way to get the indicators working in the meantime? Can't go anywhere without them til I get another switch.
Switch ordered. I'll hold a beer in my right hand til it arrives instead of waving my arm out the window like a right diddy.
Have to wired it up to glow in the dark? Connect the "58" terminal to the top of fuse 1 in the fusebox.
