    Hullo.
On fleabay, I’ve seen 3 x 6m ‘party’ gazebos. Now, Im just wondering, if anyone on here has used one to put there van in, just as a bit of cover from the elements, while they are working on it, also, if anyone has, the inside height of them. I know that it will probably be too low to drive into, but It can probably be built around the van, with enough room to comfortably jack it up enough to work under/around?

  2. I got one of those to paint my van but ended up not using it as theres not enough room around the sides to do a good job. I've painted all the "bits" in it though, which has been very useful as it keeps the worst of the dust out and can be quickly brought up to a more suitable painting temperature with a fan heater. I wouldn't even consider putting it outside, it's terrible quality and incredibly lightweight. It blew about 20 yards when someone opened the roller shutter on the workshop!

  3. I've thought of doing the same, but they are very flimsy if the wind picks up - quite likely to disappear altogether in this weekend's forecasted storm.

  4. Bless you!

  5. This was a relatively good quality gazebo with quite hefty poles. It still went up and over with a puff of wind. We screwed it down to railway sleepers after this. [IMG]

Yes. I’ve got some Harris fencing blocks to put the legs on to raise it a bit, and some lorry tie down straps to secure it to the ground a bit better if I were to get one.The pegs I have are large ones which would screw into the ground. So apart from the risk of them blowing away, are they any good?

My advice would be to buy well and buy once when it comes to gazebos. The first one (5m x 6m) I purchased was via eBay and it was okay but within a year or so the covers started to break down and it leaked. The next one we purchased (5m x 5m) was from Gala Tents and it has been erected in the back garden for the last 4yrs (it’s visible on google maps) and is still water tight. The build quality of the covers is far superior to the eBay ones....but the prices are a fair bit more
