Garage sizes

  1. Hey, so we are going to move flats in December and the best part is that Marvin gets a home of his own as it comes with a garage en bloc! Now Marvin has a Devon pop top with the 2 air vents at the top. Has anyone had any trouble fitting their buses into a garage? Are garages built to a standard/minimum size? There's not much I can do about it if he doesnt fit just wanted some thoughts. :)

  2. It wont fit standard up and over door , might if you let tyres down but mine wont :(

If its stock height you may well struggle.

most up and over doors are around 5ft10 when opened its not usually possible to get a van with any form or roof into one :(

  5. Damn that is a shame - and I thought Marvin would get a reprieve from the rain this winter. However we shall try just in case. He has been lowered by a previous owner - not too sure by how much. We could always slam him to the floor to fit him in ;)

  6. my van is lowered and JUST fits in the up and over garage ..... but it's tight - literally 0.5 cm from the bumper to the garage door and the up and over mechanism .....

  9. Hmm so judging by your pic marowak I will have to remove the spare from the front. Lol. Question is how far am I willing to go to keep him dry... Wheels off, roof off, wing mirrors off, spare wheel off. But he won't be wet lol ;)

  14. I took my up and over door off. Got rid of all the springy gubbings, adapted the frame (slightly) then hung the garage door hinged from the left side with heavy duty gate hinges. Doesn't look as bad as it sounds. JUST fits height wise.

  15. Was told a good one get a set of rims this will drop your bus a good 4 inches then they fit through the doors

  16. stock height with larger wheels and tyres

  18. The up and over has to have room to tilt back first ,thats not a standard in a block garage i assume. Plus the roof vent wont go under.

  19. My sectional garage door is 2250 mm high & Milly is 1950 mm high she fits in no problem even with a roof rack on. Milly is a standard height l;ate Westy with stock wheels & tires. :)
