  1. my bus is at a body repair shop and they owe me welding time so i'd get them to do it for 'free'. i didnt realise until seeing your link this is what you do. its a pity you're a million miles away! so i would be looking to get them delivered.

I should have looked at @davidoft 's linked thread - you only did the bit between the axles and had a roller! Nice work though. :)

I also had some made locally at £10/m. Bargain!

Yeah I cheated hey ;) , I've done another couple with no body roller but it wasn't so much fun

The place is called Tailor Made Fabrications near Littlepport in Cambridgeshire, http://www.tmmf.co.uk/ they make lorry backs and trailorsfor shooting types mainly. You'd need to supply an accurate drawing and I'm pretty sure you'd find that while they're happy to help out if you turn up, it's unlikely they going to bugger about posting lengths of steel. Just find a local place that fabricates steel "things", arm yourself with a drawing and see how you get on.

  10. i dont mind driving down if they are right. i will try again locally though. Just didnt get anywhere. The one who seemed keen couldn't bend them which is required for the back i think. i can do a bit of CAD! thanks.

I just got plain lengths, I know when I'm pushing my luck. I did use them for curved bit's arounf the front axle too, a great start for fabricating them.

  13. I managed to get the entire back end from a Californian bus. It totally mint from Volksheaven. This included the arch holding the petrol tank up, from the rear axle right back to the end of the bus.

Only missing a inner upper front kick panel.

Thanks for trying to help though much appreciated.

  14. It took 3 years but it’s all done. 3/4 of the chassis is now from a Californian bus! I got an mot this week with no advisories :) I’ve got some new pics .... I got talked into a conversion too so not quite as visible
