  1.
  2. If the needle is flying well past the full mark then check the wires to the stabiliser are correct AND that the stabiliser is earthed (bolted!) to the clocks!

  3. ok so tightend the bolts and checked the connections still the same.
when i took dash out months ago i took pictures so i knew what wire went where when putting back in
found camera to double check wires and low and behold i had mixed up the brown and black wires ::)
so now works on empty which i suppose is the most important thing but didnt seem to want to go to full. only went about 3/4
i would have needed a new sender anyway as when i bought van it was reading 1/4 full when empty anyway so job done cheers

There are lots like this. I wonder if it's down to the old wiring having more resistance. You'll probably be able to cover 50 miles looking for petrol when it reads empty. :)

  5. You can adjust the gauge with a little screwdriver poked through the back but a tiny movement will move the needle quite a bit and then you will need to spend a lot of time checking and readjusting with the sender float at the top and bottom of its limits.

Having said that - worked for me :)
