Ahh now that’s a good idea! I’ve used rivnuts to make earths...seem alright so far. “Anywhere”...except maybe to the tank itself - see, i’m learning Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Anywhere in the tank compartment, for convenience. Forget where VW put the earthing point. Rivnuts are fine, as long as they make good contact with the bodywork. As above, the other lead from the sender pops out by the RH wheel arch, where it joins the main loom to the front.
I remember when I was at school my old physics teacher smelt gas and went looking for the leak around the gas tap outlets with a lighted match - he didn't find the leak unfortunately.
